Add a site footer

Last Updated: Feb 12, 2014 07:47PM PST
Cargo allows the use of jQuery to manipulate the structure of your design. If you are using a Developer Design, navigate to your custom HTML and add the following:
<div id="site_footer">
Maurits Cornelis Escher
<i>(June 17, 1898 &ndash; March 27, 1972)</i>
</div>

<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
     $("body").append($('#site_footer'));
});
</script>
If you are using a SpaceCollective design or variant (Trillian, Voyager, Elena), use this script tag instead:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
     $(".bottompad:first").append($('#site_footer'));
});
</script>
For any other design, add the following script instead:
<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function() {
    $("#content_container").append($('#site_footer'));
});
</script>

You can then style this element by using the selector “#site_footer” in your custom CSS, for example:
  #site_footer {
    border-top: 1px solid #cccccc;
    clear: both;
    color: #999999;
    padding-top: 15px;
    width: 670px;
}

If you do not have access to Custom HTML, you can use a CSS pseudo-class to add a simple block of text or image the thumbnail area.

 #content_container::after {
    content: "Copyright 2012 Hieronymus Bosch";
    position:relative;
    clear:both;
}
To use an image instead, use a URL for the 'content' property:
#content_container::after {
    content: url(http://cargocollective.com/_gfx/bolt-sc.png);
    position:relative;
    clear:both;
}
