Verifying your domain with Google

Last Updated: Jul 22, 2014 10:35AM PDT
If you have a personal domain connected to your website, you can use Google's Webmaster tools to view information about how your website is crawled or see how people reach your website: http://www.google.com/webmasters/ . Follow the instructions for creating and configuring your Webmaster account.

When it comes time to verify that you own your domain, you can use either the DNS method of verification, or place a meta tag into your website's <head> tags.

• To use the DNS method of verification you will need to configure your domain. Google maintains a list of instructions for a number of popular domain providers here: TXT Records for Specific Domain Providers.

• If you choose to use a meta tag, you can access the <head> tag for your website through your admin panel: Settings → Site Details → Additional <meta> tags.
